Hypoxia
A downloadable game for Windows
Hypoxia is a first person interactive environment made in Unreal Engine 4. This project is a game demo for what would be a complete game.
The game is set in a world where oxygen levels have become dangerously low due to the effects of deforestation. It is a post apocalyptic neo western that explores the story of a outlaw stealing the most valuable resource on earth, oxygen. The protagonist must find a way to steal the oxygen from a bandit hideout.
Any feedback is more than welcome :) Please note that this project is still being worked on and so there are a lot of missing textures/audio/and UI elements.

Hi! I learned about your game thanks to CoalFire's video and I'm very interested in the setting. Can you elaborate a bit on what the gameplay is gonna be like?
Hey Mugwump! So for the finished demo there won't be a whole lot in terms of gameplay, just some small extra things I'll be adding in to compliment whats already there :) For example, being able to interact with the jukebox etc. I'm hoping to take the demo further when I finish uni, and try start fleshing out a lot more of the gameplay, adding things like a survivability element with oxygen depletion and having to keep your character oxygenated. To be honest, I havn't thought much further along, I usually just add elements in as the project progresses :) Hope that answers your question!
Its not even letting me install this I click it it starts and doesnt download
Hey! Did you have anymore info about this so I can try work out what the issue was? Does clicking download take you to the Google drive link at all? If so it's just not downloading from there?
Your drop box download didn't work with my ad-blockers.So, Just FYI!
ah really? Ill have a look into this, thanks :)
Hey, so I've had a quick look and it seems as though ad block doesn't like dropbox. To get around this you can disable ad block for the specific link when the blocked icon pops up :) Should just be able to right click and allow the link.
Edit: I've changed the link to direct to a google drive download
Understanding that this an incomplete demo, most of my criticisms fall into the "unfinished but planned" category, a few missing textures, some sound design issues, nothing too bad in general. However, I did have to brute force the safe because I wasn't able to find any info on the second clue. And with the amount of detail in the environment at present, it could honestly do without the text exposition, the environmental storytelling does a fantastic job of communicating what's going on. Hope to see this in later stages of development! Great work so far!
Hey CoalFire! Thank you so much for playing the demo and sharing your thoughts! Really appreciate the feedback and will be continuing to make improvements based off the things you've mentioned :) There was actually a calender on the wall upstairs that showed the rest of the code, but maybe that's something I can make a bit more clear for the future. Enjoyed watching how you played!
Thanks again :)
